Vera comes from the word for faith. On the wheel, I’ve learnt that clay only finds centre when you stop forcing it, and these vessels hold that. I carved each one by hand and left them unglazed to embrace the clay’s natural surface. Each bowl balances on a hollow sphere, holding space for stems to emerge.
Designed to be used with a 6cm Kenzan - available online 27th October.
No two pieces are ever the same - each one shaped slowly and intuitively by hand.
I acknowledge the Whadjuk Noongar people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I live and work, and pay my respects to Elders past and present. I'm grateful to create on Country, near Derbal Yerrigan and Wadjemup — places of deep cultural significance and ongoing inspiration.
